Rotary Club Frisco Inferno BBQ Heats Up Downtown Rogers

9th Annual Event is the Official BBQ Competition of Bikes Blues & BBQ

ROGERS, AR - Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers is heating things up in Downtown Rogers. The 9th edition of the Frisco Inferno Barbecue Competition and Tasting will take place in the 400 Block of South 1st Street near the Frisco Caboose Friday September 20th and 21st. The popular ticketed event is the official barbecue competition of Bikes Blues & Barbecue and is conveniently located a few steps Southeast of Butterfield Stage and Railyard Park which serve as the entertainment headquarters for the popular motorcycle rally. This year the tasting fun starts on Friday with a newly added sauce competition which runs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For $5 per plate, patrons may purchase plates of five 1-inch sausage slices to taste the teams' sauces and vote on the people's choice sauce award. For the main competition, samples of smoked meat will be available from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at 301 S 1st Street in Downtown Rogers.

The annual barbecue competition and tasting is the primary fundraiser of the club. The Northwest Arkansas community is invited to sample pulled pork and turkey breast prepared by teams of corporate groups, backyard barbecue experts, and restaurant owners. Each four-person team is competing in two meat categories for The Judges Choice Awards. $3,500 in cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to winners in both pork and turkey categories. Each category will be awarded $1,000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd place, and $250 for 3rd. Additionally, People's Choice trophies will be awarded for each place for both meat categories.

Patrons may purchase tasting ticket packs of 5 tickets for $10 either online or onsite the day of the event. Each Frisco Inferno BBQ Tasting Kit provides 5 one-ounce servings of barbecue prepared by the Frisco Inferno BBQ Competition teams as well as the opportunity to vote for people's choice in both meat categories.

"We are gearing up for another great Frisco Inferno BBQ competition", shared James Monhollon, Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers fundraising chair. We are especially excited about the addition of the sauce competition on Friday night. This is a great event to taste some awesome barbeque and help raise funds for the Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers to support our local, regional, and international service projects."

Bikes Blues & BBQ returns to Rogers for the 3rd year and Downtown Rogers is geared up. The historic heart of our city boasts dozens of locally owned retail stores, bars and restaurants which have become popular locations thanks to a biker-friendly atmosphere and scheduled activities. From morning to night, there will be plenty of food, lively beer gardens and live music.
